Cocobolo Four Footed Bowl
This turning is 7 1/4" X 7 1/4" X 4 3/4" high.  Made from a single piece of cocobolo and finished with hand rubbed lacquer, it received an honorable mention award at the Design In Wood Show at the 2001 Del Mar Fair.

Carved Rose Hollow Vessel
This hollow vessel measures 3" dia. X 15" high.  The wall thickness is approximately 3/16" to within 1 1/2" of the lower point.

The central portion is make from a single piece of hard northern maple.  The rose and leaves are carved from, and are integral to, the main body of the vessel.  After
carving, the body is bleached, to give an aged ivory effect, and then the rose and leaves are painted.

The spiraling support base and the finial are turned and carved from black walnut.  All pieces are finished with lacquer.  This turning won a second place award at the Design In Wood Show at the 2001 Del Mar Fair.
Ebony and Silver Hollow Vessel
This vessel is 2 3/4" dia X 14 1/2" high.  The main body is turned and hollowed from ebony.  A silver wire is then inlaid and flattened to be flush with the ebony surface.  The support base and finial were turned and carved from hard maple and bleached to increase the contrast with the ebony body.

The  parts are all finished in lacquer.

This vessel won a first place award at the Design In Wood Show at the 1999 Del Mar Fair and is presently in the Dr. Lipton Permanent Exhibit at the Los Angeles County Art Museum.
