Ed
Hotchkin
Woodworking Biography: Ed started turning in 1997. His first three
pieces were turned out of sycamore and he still has them on display in his
house. His favorite wood to turn now is ash, mostly because it has beautiful
straight grain; he also likes buckeye. He turns on his Oneway lathe and admits
to being a bit of a “type A Perfectionist”. He says he doesn’t really turn
anything useful, he likes to turn hollow forms and most have “useless small
openings”. Ed has become our club “mentor” on coloring wood.
