The bowls in the Small Reflections series offer a
treat for the eye. My objects are based on the concept of the hollow turned
vessel, where there is a small opening at the top of the bowl and the design
flows outward from there. Deep inside, nestled in its small saucer at the bottom
of the vessel, lay a dazzling circular piece of dichroic glass, that reflects an
image as you peer inside - ‘eye candy’. I want to make nonfunctional pieces
that create form to reveal the beauty and sensuousness of the wood. Wood is so
appealing - to the touch, to the eye.
