The Glendale Woodturner's Guild is providing material for the Brand Galleries Birthday Party installation (March 3-may 20 2001), 1601 W. Mountain, Glendale, CA 91201. The phone number for the gallery is (818) 548-2051.
The installation is a collaboration of over 60 top international wood artists who have created place settings, party favors, a birthday cake, party hats, flatware, hot dogs and fries, and any number of other surprises all made of wood and set in a room atmosphere with hand crafted studio furniture.

Mark Fitzsimmons | The brandy snifters were turned from green olive tree trunk.
The wood was boiled after roughing out the shape. Cracks are filled with ironwood sawdust and wood glue. Interior finish is non-toxic polyurethane, exterior finish is olive oil. The snifters may be used for brandy. |
